James A. Vaughan, LCSW

Mr. James Vaughan is a New York State licensed Social Worker. He received his undergraduate degree from Norfolk State University, Norfolk Va., in Psychology and later received a Master of Social Work degree from Howard University, Washington, D.C. While at Howard University he served as an agent for change and worked diligently to make sure that each person had a voice in the decision making process that may have potentially had an impact on their quality of life.

Deciding to become part of the melting pot of New York City (NYC) in 1990, he served as the Program Supervisor and Program Coordinator of the Preventive Services & Independent Living Program respectively for Harlem Doweling West-Side Center for Children Services.  While there, he assisted young adolescents to navigate through systems and access services. He has several years of experience working with the

Homeless Population in the capacity of Program Director for a Tier II Homeless Shelters, Assisted Living Programs, and a Drop-In Center in the New York City area.  Mr. Vaughan has devoted his career to working with children, families, and other underserved populations. He has devoted over 30 years of his professional career working with substance abusers and the mentally ill population with the Washington D.C. Correction System, Gracie Square Hospital and North General Hospital both inpatient & outpatient programs. He provides mental health services to over 20 community based programs within NYC.

Mr. Vaughan is the Founder & CEO of NOS CONSULTING where he specializes in mental health services and workshops. He currently serves a Mental Health Consultant with the Administration for Children Services Head Start Programs.  He is well respected and demonstrates a strong commitment to assist our children and families build a strong foundation for their success.
